Best Car Of The World In 2018

Lamborghini Aventador S -- 730bhp, 217mph

Speaking of V12s, Lamborghini's flagship had a proper workover in 2017 in order to keep pace with the aptly-named 812 Superfast. The Aventador S's enormous innovation is rear-wheel steering, which gives the new huge bull something coming agility, however the extra 40bhp wrung from the 6.5-litre V12 is a bonus worth having.

Mercedes-AMG Project One -- 1,000bhp , 217mph

No-one out of AMG has driven the Mercedes F1 car for the street known so far only as Project One, but its own stats are suitably barmy to make the cut in this list. Revealed in time to get its 2017 Frankfurt motor show, the supreme AMG guarantees to launch from 0-124mph in under six seconds, which means that thanks to its AWD hybrid grip, it'll eliminate the line as fast as a real F1 car. While, ideally, creating a much neater noise...

Bugatti Chiron -- 1,479bhp, 261mph (claimed)

Though we were first introduced into the new Bugatti Chiron in 2016, we weren't exposed to the complete force of its 1,479bhp quad-turbo W16 until earlier this season. And when that occurred, any thoughts of the thing being merely a reheated Veyron quickly vanished. When it's eventually unleashed free of its limiter, the entire world will be seeing.

Dodge Demon -- 840bhp, 168mph

The very first road-certified factory automobile to be formally capable of wheelies (or wheelstands, we assume ) is your Dodge Hellcat's even more evil, quarter-mile-munching twin. It's a drag-race monster with an 840bhp supercharged V8 heart, and though that sub-170mph top rate is the lowest in this list, the Demon's capacity to launch from 0-60mph in a verifiable 2.3 moments is as impressive as it's barmy. A worthy addition to the annals of muscle car legend.

Porsche Panamera Turbo S e-Hybrid -- 670bhp, 192mph

When we drove the 550bhp Panamera Turbo S, nothing about its batty performance made us feel to be an 'S' version was necessary. However, Porsche is, it appears, even sillier than the likes of us. So it added power to the Panamera, using lessons it learned in the development of the 918 Spyder hypercar. How you might ever need this much automobile in your life is beyond us, but if you're late for a Greenpeace conference, or fearful of flying, this is a massive continent crusher that could 't run out of cost.

Ferrari 812 Superfast -- 789bhp, 211mph

We are living in a mad, mad world. One of the many pieces of evidence that this is true is the fact that Ferrari's series-production big-booted GT car is powered by a 789bhp V12 which 'll ship it beyond 62mph in 2.9 seconds and to a top rate of 211mph. If this is among the last of those classic V12 supercars, before hybrids and turbos finally kill them off, then what a thing to do.
